About Us

We are a non-denominational and ecumenical church.  We are autonomous (that is, self-governed) which allows us to minister more effectively by not having the rules or political systems of other governing bodies controlling our ministries.  We have members who formally adhered to denominational traditions including Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, Baptist, Disciples of Christ, Four Square Gospel, and Reorganized Latter Day Saints.  As such, we appeal to a wide variety of audiences because we are "Biblically-Based" and do not follow the traditions, theology, or confessions of a single man; which is also why we are "Discussion-Orientated" because we believe that an open dialogue about our individual beliefs is an important aspect of our unified faith journey. 

While the Churches of Christ as a whole have roots in the American Restoration Movement (as does the Disciples of Christ and the Christian Church), this congregation does not ascribe to some of its sister congregations’s mainstream and fundamentalist theology or traditions—namely, the sexism against women and women’s roles in the church and home. 

Instead we hold that the church should represent the commandments of Jesus. 

Therefore, this church endeavors to continually reform and restore itself back to the earliest church as witnessed from the New Testament. 

While this portrait of congregations in the New Testament does not give us an exact blueprint of the variety of beliefs that were represented in the earliest centuries of Christendom, we can gleam truths from those texts.  The biggest of these truths expressed by all early Christians is the one faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. 

From this faith we derive a church that will wholly embrace and ascribe to the radically of gospel which strives to live out Jesus’ teachings of love as an action. 

Consequently, we as a church will struggle to be a group of “Christians Only” thereby shedding denominational boundaries in its vision, mission, and ministries.  In this way we are a church that testifies:

“All Are Welcome…Come As You Are”

because here at Testify Church of Christ we have:

“Open Doors…Open Hearts”
